Why Babe Ruth Softball?

Babe Ruth Softball is designed for girls ages five through eighteen. Age divisions currently offered in the Englewood program are 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, and 16 & Under.

The primary emphasis of Babe Ruth Softball is on the local league season: education, skill development, participation for players at all levels of athletic ability, and to ensure the participants have FUN.

Babe Ruth Softball's structural hierarchy evolves from the very heart of the program: the local league. Local leagues are organized into Districts. Districts report to the State level. States are grouped into eight regions.

A highlight of Babe Ruth Softball is its annual tournament trail. Tournament teams from each local league are eligible to participate in District competition with winners advancing to the State and Regional levels. Eight regional champions from across the United States and Canada compete in each World Series.

Babe Ruth Softball intends for every child that has a desire to participate in the sport to be able to do so. Babe Ruth Softball is the fastest growing division in Babe Ruth League, Inc.

Englewood Selected as Host City for Babe Ruth Regional Tournament!
What is it?This is the second leg of the tournament trail. We will be the host for the 14 and 16 year old Softball division.
When is it?The tournament will begin on July 17th with team check in followed by a double header that evening
Where will it be?We will be playing at Denny Miller, Brent Mayne, Belleview Park and Spencer Field
How can you help?We need…
Host families: a unique part of the tournament trail is that at all levels of tournament play the players are housed by host families. That means we need a place for about 200 softball players to stay!
Donations: We need money! We are looking at expenses in the range of $6000 (hosting fee, umpires, field rental & prep, game balls, and postage)

If you can help girls softball in any way let your coach know or contact me, Lila Downing @ 303-781-2649, Director of Softball, District Commissioner for Babe Ruth Softball, and 2008 Babe Ruth Regional U14 & U16 Tournament Director.
