EYSA Scholarship Information
The Englewood Youth Sports Association (EYSA) scholarship is intended to aid Englewood High School graduates to ease the burden of first year expenses in college. The EYSA would like to encourage athletes from Englewood High School to apply for this scholarship if they have participated in an EYSA sport when they were younger. The scholarship is a one time financial award to aid in the purchase of books or other necessities.
Requirements:
- Have participated for at least one full season on an EYSA sports team
- Must have participated in a sport all the years that they have attended EHS (not necessarily the same sport) and lettered at Englewood High School
- Be a graduating senior with the intent to continue their education at the next level - acceptance letter or letter of intent to a college or university
- Must have a 3.0 GPA
- Please list all extracurricular activities and / or jobs.
- Write a 1-2 page paper, double spaced font 12 Times New Roman, explaining how participating in EYSA sports and Englewood High School sports has enhanced their life.
- Two teacher recommendations
- This application will be due Spring 2011
Selection:
The selection process will be handled by the EYSA board. The board will select a boy and a girl finalist based on the following criteria;
- Participation in EYSA sports
- Participation in EHS sports
- Academic achievement
- Personal Essay
- Letters of Recommendation
- Extracurricular activities / job
- Transcripts
Awards:
Scholarship award winners will be notified at the Englewood High School Senior Awards Banquet. The amount of $250 for two students will be directed towards the expenditures at the college or university of the recipients' choice.
